Olevia Ann Strong was born January 5,1955 to proud parents Gladys and Warren Strong. Olevia received her formal education at Stockton Elementary, Memorial Middle and went on to graduate from Lincoln High School in 1968. While attending school she met and fell in love with Michael W. Brown, Sr. and from this bond of love came a son, Michael W. Brown, Jr. Olevia loved the Lord and was baptized at the Church of Christ. Olevia was employed by the Del Mar Fair and Racetrack until her health prevented her from working. Olevia, affectionately known to most as "Grumpy", had a heart of gold and loved to socialize and entertain others and was always the life of the party. It didn't take much to make Grumpy happy. She lived her life to the fullest without regret and only wanted others to be happy. Grumpy also enjoyed babysitting children, but you'd better be back on time! She had no problem leaving you a nice message where to find your child because she was "off duty".
On October 1, 2017 Olevia was called home. She was preceded in death by parents Gladys and Warren,
Michael Brown, Sr., and sister Norma Lee Scott.
She is survived by her son Michael, Jr. (Shayna) and three grand-daughters Shyla, Amaya, and Navaeh; great-
granddaughter Avianna; three sisters Janice Strong, Oxnard, CA, Yolanda Pittard (James), and Sandra Wright (James) both from San Diego; one brother Forrest
Jackson, Las Vegas, NV; two brothers-in-law Jared Stutts (Tracy) of San Diego, and Cyrus Stutts( Mary) Vallejo, CA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
14 Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.
