Lorenzo was born December 25, 1922 to Hester Williams Neighbors and John Henry and Hester Williams Neighbors. He was the middle child and first son born to this union. He spent most of his early years in Texas before leaving to serve his country.
On April 2, 1943, Lorenzo became a member of the United States Army. His occupation was truck driver. Lorenzo drove various types of motor vehicles up to and including 2½-ton trucks, hauling supplies and equipment. Lorenzo terminated his military service on January 10, 1946 with an Honorable Discharge as a Private First Class. That same year, he married Lillian Westbrook and to this union two children were born, a son, Robert and a daughter, Gloria. Years later, Lorenzo relocated to San Diego, California, where he met and married Jeanette Cooper. Six children were born to this union Sherida, Pam, Dwayne, Don, Danny, and Dale. Lorenzo was also stepfather to Gene Felders and Michael Smith.
Lorenzo spent over forty years doing construction work, working on various freeways. He also spent a few years working on several casinos in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. W.F. Maxwell, the Daley Corporation, and a few other companies employed Lorenzo. He retired from construction in 1987.
Lorenzo enjoyed spending his Saturdays at Skyline Pop Warner and Skyline Little League watching his sons play football and baseball. He never missed a game. He was at the field when his grandchildren played sports too. He was an avid Chargers lover despite starting out as a Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed his life after retirement and did everything he wanted to do.
