Robert Jackson, Jr. was born December 11, 1958. The second son to Robert Jackson Sr. and Wilma Jackson at the Balboa Naval hospital in San Diego, CA.
Robert, Jr. was known to the family as Jack, Jr. To the little ones, he was their “Uncle Jack”. He loved the little ones and they loved him just as much.
Robert, Jr. attended Montgomery High School, where he fell in love with sports, such as football, baseball, and running track. Robert graduated Montgomery High School in 1977 and joined the U.S. Army, serving two years and then moving to Memphis to be close to family. While living in Memphis, Robert was water baptized at the local Baptist church.
Robert, Jr. was a wonderful man and a great friend, always available to help a friend, neighbors, and even strangers when the time would arise. Robert, Jr. was a master chef with specialties in BBQ and frying fish. One of his favorite events to show off his skills was at the Greater Gospel Center Church event, “Momma’s Soul Food”. Robert’s fish was the stand out at the event, everyone found it so flavorful and delicious. Cooking was not his only interest, watching baseball and football games were at the top of the list. His favorite team were the San Diego Chargers and the San Diego Padres. He also enjoyed fishing and teaching the “little ones” how to fish.
Robert, Jr. was preceded in death by his father Robert Jackson, Sr. of Memphis, TN.
Robert, Jr. leaves behind a beloved daughter Shannon Jackson of Buckeye, AZ; grandsons Joshua Vasquez, Michael Vasquez, Rashawn Marquez, Julian Marquez, and Christopher Brown, Jr.; granddaughters Neveah Jackson, (twins) Ivy and Lilly Hindman, Faith Brown and Miracle Brown; mother Wilma Jackson of San Diego; sister Dianese Jackson of San Diego; brother Marcellus Jackson, (Elizabeth) of Phoenix, AZ; brother Gerald Jackson of Tacoma, WA; sister Sabrina Jackson of San Diego; brother Johnny Jackson of Los Angeles, CA. He also leaves his lovely life partner Fredericka Ellis of San Diego and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
